2011 Day 3 destinations
This will be the shortest riding day of the trip. However, the shortest day can turn out to be one of the best days also because we will be going up to the highest elevation for the entire trip. Yes, we will be riding up to the Cameron Highlands.
The first stop for the day will be at the town of Batu Gajah. This town used to be very big in mining and evidence of that can still be seen today. We will hopefully be able to get close to an old mining dredge, as well as visit a castle that was built (though uncompleted) way back in 1915! I wonder if it is haunted…hmmm…
Batu Gajah is also our one and only petrol stop for the day as it is located just before the ascent to the Cameron Highlands. We should have more than enough petrol to take us to our final destination…Tanah Rata.
So, a simple and short riding day…which will hopefully give us plenty of time to relax and unwind…and to take in the atmosphere of the highlands!
