The 2013 route

One of the more exciting parts of planning an adventure is figuring out where to go. Of course, this can sometimes be a stressful activity as well. Still, I enjoy the process of discovering new places, scouring through maps and the internet for information about what a place might have to offer, and determining the best route to take to get there.

As usual, I wanted to visit some new places in this ride. I guess with the six days to spare, I have quite the luxury on destination selection. I looked at places with interesting names, searched the internet with words like “interesting”, “perculiar” and “unique”, and scoured Google maps for places that had interesting photographs. This time round, I think I found some pretty neat places.

Let me start with a quick overview of the route.

We start from Woodlands crossing over to Johor Bahru and proceed north along the east coast of the peninsular. This will take us all the way north till we start heading west just after Kuala Terengganu. We continue west and start heading south only after Taiping. We will then head south towards Muar on the NSE (our first touch of an express way). We continue south hugging the west coast till we get back to Singapore in Tuas.

Along the way, we will be stopping at four destinations. These are Dunggun in Terengganu state, Kuala Krai in Kelantan state, Taiping in Perak state and Muar in Johor state. Along the way, we would have traversed many other states including Pahang, Selangor, Negri Sembilan and Melaka. That makes it a total of eight states in six days!

I cannot wait!
